OxO firmware upgrade

If a new firmware upgrade becomes available below are the instructions as to how to carry this out.

Sometimes you may be instructed to install a previous firmware version and then reinstall the current one in order to deal with a specific issue.

The current version is here where you will see a download button which will save the file to your computer and previous versions are here

Please make sure the battery is fully charged before updating the firmware.

Please follow the steps below for updating your camera’s firmware:

  • Download the firmware into your computer
  • Ensure that you are using an empty recommended SD card
  • Unzip the zip file and copy the individual files in the unzipped folder to the micro SD card root directory
  • If you are installing a previous version and then reinstalling the latest version ensure that you delete the files from the previous version on the SD card before adding the latest firmware.

As an example below is a screenshot of the latest firmware files.

  • Put the micro SD card into the camera and turn your camera on
  • The top LED light will automatically flash 4 times, which means that the camera is detecting the new firmware.
  • The top light will automatically turn off, which means that the camera is updating its firmware. Do not do anything until the camera turns back on by itself.
  • After 2-5 minutes the firmware update will  be completed and  the camera will automatically turn on (bottom light on and top light flashing).
  • It will not work if you try to install the same version of firmware that is already installed. There is no need to delete any existing firmware as it overwrites.

Please do not remove the micro SD card or power on/off the device while updating. Damage caused by doing so cannot be repaired.

After completing the firmware upgrade delete the firmware files from the SD card before using it for recording.
